Expectation

.. is always too high to reach

Why are they expecting if expectation lead to disappointment?

Why aren't there limitation to expectation?

Think about it, imagine that you have a son who take drugs, gamble, and borrow money from the 'loan sharks' and owe thousands and thousands of ringgit and you have to be the one who settle those debt, forgiving him, throw him out of the house, forgiving him again and again, he has a baby girl, you, again, have to take responsible of the baby while the son go into drugs again, and then forgiving him again, then he repeating the same mistake all over again!

When you have a son like this, will you still think that your own son who came back home late, actually studying at friend's house disappoint u?

What are you expecting of your child?

When they're out late, you think that they're mixing with the wrong friends.
When they're home all day and didn't talk much, you think they have problems.
So do you want your child home or out?
It's stupid isn't it?

When they're home facing the computer all day, you say they are addicted to computer games.
When they're out with their friends, you say they are not studying.
When they say back at school or somewhere to do revision or have group studies with friends, you say they don't stay at home often.
So what you call a good boy/girl?
A person who holds a book 24/7, reading?

What would you say to them when they're having exam?
My dad says, "Get lots of A!"
My mom says, "As long as you've done your best, it's okay."
Here, what my dad says and what my mom says is balanced.
But that's only for my case. What about others?
What if both their parents want the best?
And when they scored A, they are praised.
Then what happens if the unfortunate strucks and he only get a B?
I'm sure when the expectation is so high, all they'll say is that their son disappoint them.
What? B is not good enough?
I would say, "You come do my exam, see you can get an A or not?!"
Yes, GERAM !!!!!

Well, I haven't have the chance to be a mother yet so I don't know how does it feel being a mother.
All these are just from a daughter's point of view.
Don't judge me either, I guarantee you live in a family not even similar to mine!
... and you can't imagine how's life is in such a family.
